The Penn State standout is taken into account to be the most effective or second-best prospect on this draft, with Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter as the one participant who may take that distinction away from him.
Most mock drafts have the Cleveland Browns choosing Hunter at No. 2 general, which would go away the door large open for the New York Giants to take their quarterback of the longer term in Shedeur Sanders at No. 3.
In that situation, drafting Carter could be a straightforward choice for the Patriots, who could be getting an elite cross rusher with the potential to be a perennial Defensive Participant of the 12 months candidate.
The image would change drastically if the Giants don’t draft Sanders.
If that’s the case, the Patriots may look to bolster their offensive line with Will Cambpell or Armand Membou, or they may go after Ashton Jeanty, the projected greatest operating again on this class.
This can be a good downside to have, because it looks like New England can’t go improper with any of the highest prospects.
Then once more, given his sky-high upside and bodily instruments, followers may be crossing their fingers to get Carter.
